In Athena’s US-Ghana Young Historians Program, schools in Ghana and the US partner for a year-long study of Ghanian history. Athena Learning provides all curriculum, instruction and facilitation in partnership with the schools.

Schools in the US are paired with schools in Ghana. Using the same curriculum, they venture on a journey through the history of Ghana from ancient kingdoms to trans-Saharan trade, through colonialism and the fight for independence. We will learn about Ghana’s pivotal role in history.

Together with Ghanian classmates, study the history of Ghana from 300AD to the present.
Have penpals between US and Ghanian students. Learn about each other’s culture and experiences.
